Why Integrative Psychotherapy?

My clients arrive at my doorstep for a variety of reasons.

They want to connect with themselves better.

They’re dealing with low self-esteem, shame, or chronic self-criticism.

They feel anxious, depressed, overwhelmed, stuck, or afraid.

They’re going through a challenging transition, experiencing, grief, addiction, or anger issues.

They want to feel more empowered, present, creative, and joyful.

Some want to connect with others better.

They’re craving a deeper level of intimacy: in friendship, in romance, or in parenting.

They’ve noticed the same, disappointing patterns playing out in their relationships — and are ready to find a better way.

They’re having a hard time releasing trauma — whether it was large or small, and whether it happened in childhood or last month.

Many want to connect more deeply with their spirituality.

They’ve had a glimpse at a higher truth, and want help bringing this awareness into their daily lives.

They’re struggling to integrate their spirituality with their mind and body.

They want to relax and allow more happiness and love in their life … and know they need to transform themselves and their perspective to do so.

Integrative psychotherapy brings together the best of body-based, relational, and psychotherapeutic modalities, so you can shift more quickly, easily, and deeply.

Body-based: Your body reveals is a reliable gateway into the present moment. It grounds spirituality, releases developmental trauma, and  reveals truths your mind hasn’t yet understood. We’ll use this portal to help you recognize how you’re limiting yourself and to call upon your untapped resources.

Relational: We’re wired for connection. It’s through relationships that we learn who we are: as infants, through childhood, right up to the present moment. We’ll identify your relational patterns: where you’re stuck, what your gifts are, and how you can access more freedom and joy with others.

Psychotherapeutic: Bring more mindfulness to your life, so you understand your reactions and can choose new ones. I’ll help you notice your own patterns of language, embodiment, and connection, so you can exert more choice and wisdom, moment to moment.

By listening to all of you — body, mind, and relationships — we’ll hear your whole story.

My sessions don’t follow any cookie-cutter framework or predictable protocol. We start in the present moment: here, now … with whatever’s “up” for you. Depending upon your unique situation, history, and personality, I’ll draw upon every perspective, modality, and tool I have, gliding seamlessly from one to the next.

Many of my clients find this uniquely integrative approach surprisingly simple. Deep transformation often happens quickly and easily.

My hope is that, however stressed or challenged you are when you arrive, you will walk away from our work feeling more present, hopeful, and delighted by your life and your place in it.
